The 8-channel I2C relay module with XL9535 I/O expander allows control of 8 relays using only two I2C communication pins (SDA/SCL), significantly simplifying wiring. When using the 8-channel relay module, power supply is critical. If all relays are activated simultaneously, current consumption can reach 600-800mA. Never power this module directly from the 5V pin of your Arduino or ESP32, as this can overload the microcontroller’s voltage stabilizer. Always use a high-quality 5V power supply (at least 1A, ideally 2A) connected directly to the module’s USB-C input. When working with high voltage (230V), ensure the device is disconnected from the mains before wiring, and always enclose the circuit in an insulated housing.
